8. The Warehouse Project

The closest thing since the ‘Madchester’ era, The Warehouse Project has bought the clubbing scene to all new levels since it’s launch from the Boddingtons warehouse in the mid naughties. The success from their high following is also backed from the page engagement from the fans. Recently WHP introduced a great concept of trying to find attendees from their first year in 2006, offering tickets to the people in the photos who came forward. A social media campaign that we love at Cunning Plan!

7. Vimto

Mainly known for it’s flavored soft drink, you wouldn’t have to look far in the Far East to find a can, never mind a Manchester corner shop! The huge worldwide popularity for the brand has not gone unnoticed by it’s social media presence. A staggering 345,000 people Like the official page on Facebook. However a further Twitter campaign could easily tip Vimto to being a top 5 contender. Maybe a leaf out of Skittles or Rowntree’s Randoms social media presence may add a cutting edge to their performance?

HEY MONKEY – That all time famous quote by fellow Northerner Jonny Vegas is probably one of the most memorable  PG Tips televised adverts. The social media continues to use the well loved monkey and even references back to the classic adverts. A great following and engagement ratio represents a hugely successful campaign for PG Tips.

It’s no surprise to see such a strong brand in the top 3 and really if we take the passion for football into consideration, McVitie’s would win on the corporate side of looking at top businesses. However we have to admit are we really cheating by counting the Jaffa Cake Facebook page? A staggering 802,000 people follow Jaffa Cakes on Facebook.
